News Release: Virtual Holiday Support Through Finding Light + Hope: A Holiday Series on Grief & Loss

Updated: Nov 22

Grief Recovery Center (GRCBR) is excited to announce the launch of the Finding Light + Hope: A Holiday Series on Grief and Loss. The holidays can be a difficult time for many. This time of year can feel impossible when you are grieving a loss or other major life transitions. The 8-week series will be a drop-in virtual support group, beginning November 10th through the end of this year. Louisiana residents 18 and older can register online at www.grcbr.org/programs. Participants may attend as many or as few sessions as they choose with one registration.

“People need community and to feel like they belong, especially this year with the pandemic,” says Esther Sachse, GRCBR Executive Director. “There are still many unknowns for the final months of this year, but we hope this series will give people the ability to hold their loss and celebration this time of year brings, honoring both.”

GRCBR has offered mental health services since 1991. As part of its mission, the agency sees all clients regardless of ability to pay for services. Through this holiday series, GRCBR will be able to support those in our community to offer actionable coping tools. Licensed counselors from the GRCBR team will facilitate this series.
